Donna Hemphill

Owner of Donna’s Creole Spot & Host of The Crazy Creole

Born and raised on the bayous of Slidell, Louisiana, Donna Hemphill grew up surrounded by the spirit and soul of South Louisiana life. The smell of fiberglass resin still brings her back to her childhood, watching her father work on salvaged boats – a scent that, for Donna, will always mean “home.” That deep connection to her Louisiana roots has shaped who she is and what she loves most: honoring her heritage through food.

Donna’s passion for cooking began at just six years old, standing beside her mother, grandparents, and great-grandparents in the kitchen. With every meal, she learned that food wasn’t just about flavor – it was about family, love, and tradition. Encouraged by her loving stepmother, who always told her to chase her dreams and never let anyone hold her back, Donna grew into a woman who believes in hard work, heart, and heritage.

Her cooking style is pure Creole – a vibrant blend inspired by her Italian, Canadian, French, and Native American roots. Through her restaurant, Donna Creole Spot, formally known as Creole Kitchen, she shares the flavors and stories of South Louisiana, serving authentic dishes made from scratch with genuine care and passion.

Now, as the host of her upcoming TV show, The Crazy Creole, Donna is bringing her unique Creole flair and Louisiana spirit to screens everywhere and an upcoming cookbook. The show & cookbook will teach viewers how to cook in her signature style – soulful, homegrown, and full of love – while celebrating the rich traditions that shaped her life.

For Donna Hemphill, every dish tells a story – of family, faith, culture, and the deep joy of sharing Louisiana’s heart with the world.
